Terms of Use: Side Quest Studios
Last updated: February 2026
1. Who we are
Side Quest Studios ("we", "us", "our") is a non-commercial fan creative hub dedicated to fan culture and transformative works. We organise creative challenges and initiatives open to fan artists worldwide.
Side Quest Studios is based in Italy and operates under Italian and European Union law, including EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Italian legislation on transformative and fan works.
Our website is: sidequeststudios.org
2. Scope and acceptance
By accessing or using this Site, you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and the specific rules of any initiative you participate in.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use this Site.
3. Nature of the platform
Side Quest Studios is a non-commercial platform dedicated to fan creativity. We do not generate revenue from this Site, charge participation fees, or sell any content.
We operate as a link archive and creative hub: we do not host fan works directly on our servers. Instead, we collect and display metadata (title, author, fandom, type, prompt used, content rating) and a link to the work as published on third-party platforms chosen by the author (AO3, Tumblr, DeviantArt, etc.).
We are not responsible for the content or policies of third-party platforms linked in our Masterpost.
4. Transformative works
Side Quest Studios explicitly supports and celebrates transformative fan culture. Fan works — including fanfiction, fanart, fan videos, fan music, and other creative responses to existing media — are a recognised form of cultural expression with a long tradition.
We acknowledge that fan works occupy a complex legal space. Our platform operates on the principle that non-commercial, transformative fan creativity is a legitimate and valuable cultural practice, consistent with fair use and fair dealing principles recognised in many jurisdictions, as well as Italian and EU copyright exceptions for parody, quotation, and transformative use.
We do not claim any rights over third-party intellectual property referenced in our prompt tables or submitted works.
5. Submitted works
When you submit a fanwork to one of our initiatives, you confirm that:
- The work was created by you (and your co-author, if applicable) for this initiative.
- You hold the rights to submit it and have the authority to grant the licence described below.
- The work does not violate these Terms or applicable law.
- The metadata you provide (title, fandom, type, prompt code, content rating) is accurate.
You retain full ownership and copyright of your work. By submitting, you grant Side Quest Studios a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display your work's metadata and link in our Masterpost for archival and community purposes. This licence does not allow us to reproduce, sell, or use your work commercially.
You may request removal of your submission from our Masterpost at any time by contacting us. We will process removal requests promptly.
6. Content guidelines
All submissions must comply with the following:
- Works must be new and created for the initiative they are submitted to.
- Works must be inspired by or connected to the initiative's theme, or use a prompt from the prompt table. Free creative responses to the theme are also welcome.
- Works must be correctly tagged with the appropriate content rating: Safe (SFW), Mature themes (sensitive content, open with care), or Explicit/NSFW (adult content, 18+).
- Works must not contain content that is illegal under Italian or European law, including any content that sexualises or endangers minors.
- Works must not constitute targeted harassment of real individuals.
We reserve the right to reject or remove any submission that violates these guidelines, at our sole discretion. We will endeavour to notify the author when possible.
7. Prompt tables
The prompt tables published on this Site are curated by Side Quest Studios. They are provided freely for creative inspiration and participation in our initiatives.
Prompt tables may not be reproduced or redistributed for commercial purposes without our written permission. Non-commercial sharing with attribution is welcome.
